Life expectancy has increased and current world leading causes of death are agerelated diseases. Diverse of such disorders, including several neurodegenerative diseases and cancer, have been related to protein misfolding and aggregation. Recent findings strongly support this hypothesis and have increased our understanding of the molecular mechanism of protein conformational disorders. Although many questions remain unanswered, the data suggest that correction of protein misfolding is a potential therapeutic strategy for protein aggregation diseases. The workshop aims at bringing together renowned researchers working on misfolding protein and its relation to different fields: biology, cancer and neurodegeneration. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive forum through which quality research can be disseminated to a wide audience.
