Göttingen Parkinson’s Disease Interest Group

Background

Within the Göttingen Campus, there is strong expertise in basic, clinical, and translational research in the field of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and related disorders.
The various groups are involved in broader networks (MBExC, SFBs, DZNE, MPIs) that enable interdisciplinary interactions, but that do not concentrate the expertise in the PD field.

Goals

The goal of this initiative is to create a vibrant forum for members of the Göttingen Campus to meet and discuss PD-related research on a regular basis, creating opportunities for bottom up collaborations to develop, and for the PD community to strengthen their joint expertise. To achieve these goals, we will:

  • Create a website (GoPD) where activities will be advertised

  • Initiate a seminar series (via Zoom), to take place on the 3rd Thursday of the month, at 17h00, where a junior scientist will present their project or a selected publication of interest, for in depth discussion and brainstorming. Prominent scientists in the field will be invited to participate, and should be invited by the scientist in charge of presenting on that Thursday.
